Saying the future is electric is not enough. You have to be able to measure it
In the debate on e-mobility, a great deal of attention is paid to range, charging infrastructure and the number of new electric cars. Far less is said about what will happen to these vehicles after a few years of use — when they pass to subsequent owners, fleets, leasing companies and dealers, and onto the used-car market.
That is when the most important question is no longer the official range of a new car. Instead, it becomes the actual condition of the traction battery.
Does the battery still deliver stable performance? How has it been used? What risks can be detected in the available data? How does its condition affect future running costs and the value of the vehicle as a whole? And finally: can the diagnostic result be translated into information that makes sense not only to an engineer, but also to a driver, seller, appraiser, lessor, insurer or bank?
These are exactly the questions Voltified Energy will bring to the discussion at the 13th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship.

Voltified Energy in Wrocław
The 13th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship will take place on 3–4 November 2026 at the Centennial Hall in Wrocław. The event will bring together representatives of business, science, public administration, local government and the new technology community.
Voltified Energy will be present at the Congress in several roles. Gabriel Markut, the company’s CEO and co-founder, will give a talk and take part in a panel discussion on the development of the modern services sector. The company will also have its own exhibition stand, where participants will be able to learn more about the solutions we are developing, talk to the team and see how technical data can support decision-making about electric vehicles.
In the evening, Voltified Energy representatives will attend the gala ceremony. The company has been nominated for the Polish Innovation Award 2026.
For a young technology company, being at the Congress is not just an opportunity to showcase the brand. Above all, it is a chance to test the concept we are developing against the experience of people who finance, insure, value, buy, sell and operate cars every day.
“We don’t want to convince the market that every battery is good. We want to create an environment in which a battery’s condition can be proven, its risk measured and its value compared. The Congress gives us the opportunity to talk to people whose decisions will shape the used electric car market in Poland and Europe,” says Gabriel Markut, CEO and co-founder of Voltified Energy.
From battery diagnostics to battery value
Gabriel Markut’s talk will focus on the path that leads from technical battery diagnostics to determining the battery’s economic significance.
The traction battery is one of the most important and most expensive components of an electric car. Its condition can affect range, operational stability, future costs, the possibility of further use and the vehicle’s price on the used-car market. Despite this, used EVs are still often valued primarily on the basis of model year, mileage, trim level and service history.
For a combustion-engine car, this set of information can serve as a starting point for an assessment. In an electric car, however, it leaves out the most important unknown — the condition of the battery.
Two vehicles of the same model, of a similar model year and with comparable mileage, may differ in how they were charged, their operating conditions, thermal stress, the number of cycles, the stability of individual battery sections and the rate of further degradation. Their market value should therefore not automatically be the same.
Why is a single SoH figure not enough?
State of Health, or SoH, is one of the most frequently cited parameters describing battery condition. It can be an important part of a diagnosis, but a percentage on its own does not answer every question.
Factors that matter include the data source, the calculation method used, the completeness of the information, the conditions under which the reading was taken, the vehicle’s software version and the way the result is interpreted. The indicators provided by individual manufacturers are not always determined according to identical rules, so comparing them directly without the proper context can lead to overly far-reaching conclusions.
A professional assessment should not reduce a complex battery system to a single number. It should also state what data was analysed, what cannot be confirmed on that basis and what level of confidence the presented result carries.
“A technical reading only becomes valuable once we know its origin, the conditions under which it was obtained and its limitations. The SoH percentage alone can be a starting point, but it should not automatically become a full assessment of the battery. We need a structured analysis that allows us to draw repeatable and justifiable conclusions,” stresses Tomasz Piwowarski, MSc Eng., co-founder and CTO of Voltified Energy.

Battery Health Value — combining technology and economics
Voltified Energy’s response to this gap is the Battery Health Value (BHV) methodology we are developing.
Its premise is to translate technical battery data into information that can support the assessment of a vehicle’s risk and value. The aim is therefore not to replace diagnostics with yet another simple indicator, but to build a bridge between technical analysis and real business or purchasing decisions.
The BHV model is being developed for situations in which information about the general condition of the battery is not enough on its own. A buyer wants to know whether the vehicle’s price is justified. A seller wants to be able to document the car’s good condition. A fleet needs to forecast future costs and the right moment to resell. A lessor assesses residual value. An insurer or appraiser needs to understand how damage affects the vehicle’s value and whether the battery can still be used.
Each of these parties looks at the vehicle from a different perspective, but they all need a reliable and verifiable source of information.
The goal of BHV is to gradually combine diagnostic data, identified risk factors, the quality of the available information, vehicle characteristics and market conditions. The methodology is currently at the development and validation stage. That is why Voltified Energy is holding talks with representatives of various sectors, so that the solution reflects real-world processes rather than technological assumptions alone.
A certificate should explain, not just display a result
One element of the Voltified Energy ecosystem is the Voltified Certificate. Its purpose is to present the test result in a way that is clear, structured and verifiable.
A good certificate should not be limited to attractive graphics and a single number in the middle of the page. It should include information about the vehicle tested, the procedure used, the scope of the available data, the key parameters, the risks identified and the limitations of the analysis.
Being able to check the document’s authenticity is also important. The market needs safeguards that reduce the risk of results being altered, a certificate being reused for a different vehicle or an outdated test being passed off as a picture of the battery’s current condition.
“A certificate should build trust not because it looks good, but because it shows where the data came from, how the assessment was carried out and the limits of the conclusion presented. Users should know not only what the result is, but also what it is based on,” notes Beata Staniszewska, MSc Eng., Head of Product Certification & Quality at Voltified Energy.
What will we show at the Voltified Energy stand?
Our stand at the Congress will be a place for face-to-face conversations about the practical applications of the technology we are developing.
Attendees will be able to learn about the process of independent battery diagnostics for electric cars and plug-in hybrids, see the structure of the Voltified Certificate and find out how vehicle data can be turned into information that is useful when buying, selling or valuing a vehicle, or managing a fleet.
We will also present the direction in which Battery Health Value and Voltified Fleet Intelligence are being developed — the latter being a solution designed for companies that manage larger numbers of electric vehicles.
For a fleet, a single test is only one part of a wider process. What matters is the ability to track changes over time, compare vehicles, identify deviations and plan further use. Properly structured data can support decisions on vehicle rotation, servicing, resale, extending a vehicle’s service life or referring it for in-depth diagnostics.
The Voltified Energy stand will be open to representatives of fleets, leasing companies, dealers, used-car lots, insurers, appraisers, banks, workshops and technology partners.
Technology needs a dialogue with the market
Gabriel Markut will also take part in a Congress panel on the rapid growth of the modern services sector.
This is an important area of debate, because innovation does not end with the creation of an algorithm, a device or an app. For a technology to work in the market, it has to be embedded in real business, legal and operational processes.
For battery diagnostics and valuation, this means finding a common language for many different communities. An engineer needs technical data. A customer expects a simple answer. A bank analyses financial risk. An insurer considers the cost of a potential claim. A dealer has to set a buy-back price, and a fleet operator has to forecast how long the vehicle will remain in service.
A solution may be technically advanced, but if its output is not understandable and useful to the various market participants, it will remain nothing more than an interesting project. That is why we see our participation in the panel as an opportunity to talk about the conditions needed for Polish technologies to be implemented successfully.
Nomination for the Polish Innovation Award 2026
The first day of the Congress will close with a gala ceremony, at which Voltified Energy will appear as a nominee for the Polish Innovation Award 2026.
We see the nomination as an important signal that the problem of limited transparency in the battery market has been recognised. However, we do not treat it as confirmation that the job is done. The technology has to prove itself in practice, and its usefulness should stem from the quality of the data, the repeatability of the process and the value it delivers to users.
The gala will be an opportunity for us to take stock of what we have done so far, but above all to start new conversations with potential partners.
Polish technology designed for the European market
The used electric car market will not develop solely within the borders of a single country. Vehicles move between countries and pass to new owners, and their technical history is not always complete or presented according to comparable rules.
As the number of used EVs grows, independent diagnostic methods, reliable certificates and solutions that help assess the residual value of batteries will become increasingly important.
Voltified Energy’s ambition is to develop technology in Poland that can meet the needs of the entire European market. This means thinking about the comparability of results, the transparency of the methodology, data security, process scalability and cooperation with organisations representing different parts of the e-mobility ecosystem.
The Congress in Wrocław will be another place where we present this concept, open it up for discussion and test it against the market’s experience.
Let’s meet in Wrocław!
We invite you to visit the Voltified Energy stand at the 13th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship.
We look forward to talking with electric car owners, automotive industry representatives, fleets, lessors, dealers, insurers, appraisers, financial institutions and technology partners interested in battery diagnostics and in developing standards for assessing battery value.
We don’t assume we already know all the answers. But we do know that the market needs better questions, reliable data and solutions that reduce uncertainty instead of hiding it.
